are you allowed to guess multiple different versions of the same album or not.

Generally no, unless the album art explicitly depicts an alternative cover ie. A special edition, though those are rare, or alternatively no one really is going to be mad if you mess up an album and guess a record you guessed a year ago, but generally best practice to avoid that

However if you incorrectly guess one album and see a different drawing of the same cover that's cool

If you try to guess an album with the same artist/title as one you've already guessed, the site won't let you. So you can only guess one self-titled Weezer album, for instance, even though they're different albums. But you would get points for guessing, like, Album A + then Album A (Collector's Edition).

Yeah, it's against the rules to knowingly guess multiple versions of the same album. We've had a few users recently trying to get around this by "typoing" their answers so that the site doesn't detect the duplicate guesses.

Wanted to clarify don't knowingly guess something you've guessed before like I said with the year ago thing, more so was saying that as a don't stress if it happens by accident

I think that controls could be reinforced (through regular expressions?) to prevent users from guessing an album twice when there's only a minor typographic difference, such as a space before a colon (standard practice in some languages/countries), a non-breaking space instead of a standard one, an en dash vs. a hyphen... It has happened to me several times that I (more or less unknowingly) guessed an album a second time several months later despite not "typoing" my answers.
I might be wrong, but it seems to me that there's a tolerance for guessing such complex titles which is not equally applied to detect duplicate guesses.
