Points obtained from appeals

when someone gets an album correct by having their appeal for it approved, it seems like the number of points they gain is always 100 rather than whatever it would be had they guessed it correctly the first time. as an example, see http://guessthatalbum.com/albums/view/865 where all the correct guesses show 100 points. are these given as a kind of consolation, or is it something that wasn't updated from the times when a correct guess always resulted in 100?

Hum, I think for that case, those 4 people might have made an appeal for the "obvious" answer and the admin was kind enough to accept their request. (I just filed one myself and I encourage players who got that answer wrong to do the same)
If you look at this one for example :
http://www.guessthatalbum.com/albums/view/369
You can see many scores twice (98, 96, 95, 94, 92) and those are most likely accepted appeals.idolisdeadPosted on 12/9/2014 at 5:58 AM
ah, that makes sense - i suppose in the case of more popular albums, awarding the "correct" number of points to appeals would be pretty difficult, particularly if someone else had got it right after the appeal had been filed.
(i guess a lot of people consider 865 to be too sly, but i actually don't know the name of the "obvious" choice)AdminPosted on 12/9/2014 at 10:40 AM
Your hunch is correct, idolisdead. Keeping track of the "correct" number of points to award is difficult when appeals get made and approved (or rejected) in a weird order. The difference between the point values is small enough that I don't worry about it too much.
